FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How early should we book?
Some of the more popular dates do fill up quickly so, the sooner the better. Some brides will plan 12-18 months in advance while others only plan 6 months out. If you're just starting your planning, try to make your final decision as soon as possible to ensure our availability.
Do you take breaks?
Unlike bands, we do not take breaks. We play from the time we are scheduled to start until the contracted ending time. We will play longer, for an additional fee, as long as the facility will allow it.
Can we choose the music to be played at our event?
Mounds of Sound is very flexible when it comes to the music selection. We have had clients that are very specific about their music and picked almost every song and others that leave the music selection up to us.
We suggest that you give us a list of songs that you want to hear and put an asterisk next to any songs that you can’t live without. This will also leave room for us to take requests from the guests as well. If you would prefer us to not take requests, we will honor that request.
Can we have a “do not play” list?
Absolutely! There are often times when the “do not play” list is longer than the request list. We certainly don’t want to play a song that reminds you of a bad experience. Some folks are very general with their “do not play” list and some are very specific. If you request no line dances, we won’t play any line dances. If we get several requests for a line dance, we will certainly consult with you to see if it’s okay to possibly play one line dance song.
What if we want a song that you don’t have?
We have an extensive 16,000 song collection but from time to time there is a song that we don’t have. If you would like to provide it, that is fine with us. We just ask that we get any music that you are providing, two weeks in advance, to make sure that it is compatible with our equipment.
Do you bring back-up equipment?
In order to offer you the highest level of dependability, we keep essential back-up equipment with us for all events. In the small chance that something should happen, we can switch out the equipment seemlessly without anyone knowing.
We actually let you determine how much interaction that you want. We can be any where from conservative to out going, it’s all up to you. At no time will the DJ ever take over the spotlight. We will remain professional at all times.
Do we have to sign a contract?
Most definitely! We have a very easy to read straight forward contract that is agreed to and signed by both parties before any services are rendered. A signed contract, along with the deposit will ensure our services on the date requested
What is the deposit and when is the final payment due?
We require a $100 deposit and signed contract to reserve your date. The final payment of the remaining balance is due 2 weeks prior to your event date. We accept cash, personal check, certified check, or money order.
You are not required to provide a meal for us but if you do, it would be greatly appreciated!
This is purely up to you. You are never under any obligation to do so. If you feel the DJ went above and beyond, that is the best compliment you can give but it is never expected.
